Minecraft 1.19 launches today, loading up the Wild Update's new biomes, mobs, and technical tweaks. This is the final step for (almost all) the new features, which were first revealed to players at Minecraft Live 2020. It also is the final release of three major updates.

As usual, there will be no secrets that are hidden on the day of launch, Agnes Larsson, Minecraft game director, and Ulraf Vaknin, developer, assure me. Mojang is as committed to feedback from players as ever-or otherwise, why bother with snapshot builds, release candidates, and betas? The developers also talked about some of the changes that 1.19 was undergoing after players played with the game.

The Wardens' dangerous character might have changed the most during the course of development. Vaknin states, "That was a place we looked at both our technical and challenge players for feedback." In their March debut photo, the Wardens were already quite scary when I first tried to play with them. They made a very intense heartbeat when they were angry and roared at me, and obliterated every poor chicken I brought into their path to distract them.

They now have a sonic assault too, a ranged ability emanating out of their chests to fight players who managed to cleverly get out of their arms reach. Based on feedback from Minecraft players who appreciate the redstone technology aspect of Minecraft and the Skulk, the new Warden-summoning blocks, also got a new design.

"It's quite technical," Vaknin says, explaining that the Skulk sensors went from registering the first sound sensed in the code, but they now respond to the sound that is closest to it. "We looked at some of the devices players tried to make and they didn't work due to some glitches in the code. We modified it to make it more natural."

Mojang continues to have a significant impact on feedback. Prior to the Wild Update, fireflies (originally described as food for frogs in Minecraft Live 2020) have been a topic of disagreement, so much that the most recent Q&A video about new Wild Update features was titled "What happened to the fireflies in Minecraft 1.19?"

In the video, producer Anna Lundgren explained that players have pointed out that fireflies can be poisonous for Frogs. Larsson and Vaknin explained that it wasn't only players who signaled the alarm. Vaknin states that pet shop owners reached out to me and told me that it was already a problem due to people not being educated about the issue. "So people already make this mistake and when Minecraft amplifies this mistake that can make it even worse."

Larsson says, "We reach millions," Larsson says, "And that should come with a lot of responsibility. We were aware that the release of a feature, such as fireflies that can be poisonous for frogs and then letting the frogs consume them, could result in people killing the real frogs.

We are able to reach millions of players and that should come with a great responsibility.

My gut reaction is to support developers who change their minds on features in development for just about any reason but Larsson's more measured explanation is probably the more sensible one. Minecraft has been more than just a game for a long time. It's now being promoted as an educational tool. Mojang should consider the potential of Minecraft as an educational and entertainment tool for its large crowd of children.

Larsson claims that the latest bugs were much smaller without fireflies being frog food. Mojang decided to eliminate the bugs completely for now and move them back to the grand idea catalog and focusing on the quality of other features in the pipeline. minecraft

Vaknin is excited to meet new Allay friends flying around houses and buildings. Larsson is a player who is a true friend of mine, is thrilled about finding new mangrove swamps and creating new builds with the mangrove wood set, which is reddish, and the mud blocks.

Minecraft 1.19 launches today with an extensive list of notes on patches, and can be found as a brand new version within your Minecraft Launcher. Today is also the day all Minecraft users will be able to download both Java or Bedrock versions of Minecraft even if they previously owned one.
