The application of pest control ranges from home improvement structures to
the very precise setup of compounds and predatory insects by
exceptionally skilled practitioners. Despite the undeniable fact that pest control is a global industry it is still ruled by household or 1-person organizations. Those that need
to regulate pests vary from householders to
large scale agri-conglomerates who should maximise their return. Between both of these are bars, restaurants, food manufacturing facilitiesand farmers - in reality,
anyone who regularly handles food. Pest control may make us more
comfortable - however can save lives.

The word insect is subjective as just one individual's pest may be yet another man's
helper. For instance, pest A might be a hazard to harvest A, and pest B a threat to
crop B. But if insect is an all pure predator to insect A, then the farmer who
wants to protect harvest A may nurture and release pest B amongst his crops.
There is a notion that without man's intervention at the food chain through
agriculture, hunting and long distance travel there could be no pests. The
theory goes that man's intervention (for instance, in cultivating and
discharging pest B, or carrying creatures long-distances ) has upset the balance
of the foodchain, producing disturbance in insect and other animal numbers and
distorting their development. This instability has caused overpopulation of a
specified species with the result that they have become pests. Having said this, when we assume that the exact first fly swat was the first
example of pest controller - and we all know that large critters swat flies - it may possibly be contended that pest-control dates back way before humans came on the scene.

The first recorded example of pest control takes us straight back to 2500BC if the Sumerians
used sulphur to control insects. Then around 1200BC the Chinese, in their own age of discovery near the ending of the Shang Dynasty, were using chemicals to
control pests. The Chinese continued to develop ever more sophisticated
chemicals and ways of controlling insects for plants and for individuals comfort.
No doubt that the spread of pest control know-how was helped with all the higher level state of
Oriental writing skill. Although advancement in pest control methods certainly continued, the next significant scrap of signs doesn't come until around
750BC when Homer described the Greek utilization of wood ash spread on land for a kind of
pest control.

Around 500BC the Chinese were using mercury and arsenic compounds being a way to regulate body lice, a frequent problem throughout history.

By 300BC
there was evidence of the use of usage of predatory insects to control pests,
but this technique has been almost certainly developed before this date. The Romans
developed pest control techniques and the thoughts were distributed throughout the
empire. In 13BC the earliest recorded rat-proof grain store was built by the Romans.

The very first known instance where predatory pests were transported in one area to another originates out of Arabia around 1000AD where farmers moved cultures of ants from neighboring mountains to their oasis plantations in order
to prey on phytophagous rodents that assaulted date hands.

Inspite of the enlightenment provided by the early Chinese, Arabs and Romans,
lots of the teachings did not pass down though time. Undoubtedly in Europe
through the dark ages, techniques of pest control were just as likely to be centered on
superstition and local spiritual rituals as any demonstrated way. Pests were frequently regarded as workers of evil - especially individuals who destroyed food, livestock or plants.
Although there were definitely studies of fleas throughout the dark ages, we don't have any listed evidence of the

It isn't until the European renaissance when more evidence of pest control
emerges. In 1758 the excellent Swedish botanist and taxonomist Carolus Linnaeus
catalogued and named many pests. With the work of Linnaeus along with different scholars and the commercial needs to ensure livestock and crops were protected,
pest control became systemized and spread throughout the entire world. As global
trade increased, fresh pesticides were discovered.

Now pest control was carried out by farmers and a few householders
as a day to day life. By the early nineteenth century nevertheless this changed
as writings and studies started to show that treated pest control as a
distinct area. Pest controller direction has been scaled
upward to meet these demands, to this point which dedicated pest controllers begun to
emerge throughout the 20thcentury.

Back in 1921 the first crop-spraying aeroplane was employed and in 1962 flying insect control was revolutionized when Insect-o-cutor started selling fly killer
machines with ultra violet lamps.

Pest control continues to be carried out by farmers and householders to the very day.
Additionally, there are Pest Control Buntingford (sometimes called pesties); many
are oneperson companies yet others work for large companies. In the majority of countries
the pest control business is dogged by some bad practitioners who have
tarnished the reputation for the exceptionally professional and accountable.

One thing is for certain, away before the Sumerians of all 2500BC to us in present times, there have always been and probably will be - pests (including some individual ones!) . Thank goodness, therefore, that we have pest controllers.
