Minecrafts Warden Gets More Buffs In The 119 Prerelease

The Minecraft 1.19 release date is, theoretically, on the horizon. The next big update has many exciting things to look forward to such as frogs, the new mob that is made of allay, as well as the fearsome Minecraft Warden. Each brings something a little bit different to the game, however in the case of the Warden at least, it seems Mojang is determined to terrorize us.

If you're skeptical, just check out the most recent notes for Minecraft 1.19 pre-release 3 that almost immediately followed pre-release 2 presumably because of Warden's requirements. While the majority of notes here are about bug fixes, there are a few key Warden changes that are worth talking about. The first one is that if the Warden is stuck in the middle of a liquid, it'll angrily despawn instead of digging. We don't know how one is able to angrily despawn but it's something that we're excited to witness.

Another significant modification, and this was the one that came in to version three of the prerelease, is that Wardens' Sonic blast attack now avoids damage reduction through armor spells like Protection. This makes Warden a bit more powerful because it demonstrates Mojang would prefer this enemy to be snubbed, rather than cheesed.

While many of the bug fixes are specific, it's important to note that mobs appear more likely to appear in Nether Portals. This means that they are being ripped through time and space a lot. Minecraft Mojang is currently working to stop this in a future version however they "will not be making any further changes to this prior to the release of 1.19."
