QuoteThey will be available in two different versions However, you can have both.

My Sorge is that they're contemplating a decision to stop the Java edition and then saying "well, the majority of Java players are using Windows So they can play Bedrock!"

Java supports Windows 7 and higher, while Bedrock is compatible with Windows 10 or later. I worry that, when the time comes to drop Windows 7 and 8, Microsoft will conclude that there is no longer a reason to maintain two separate codebases.

This is not due to Microsoft's conflict-of-interest in (not) support for Linux. None of the major game studios including Paradox or Valve are planning to bring full-sized games to Linux unless they have access to the majority of the code for Windows. If the developer decides not to support the Windows version of an exclusive Linux game, that would mean it was removed from the Linux community.

Quoting: mr-victoryQuoteNot that it particularly matters to Linux players, but it does matter for me. I had the bedrock edition mainly because java was way more expensive but now I can play minecraft on linux. PRIORITY GAME checked, purchasing BE on one platform did not let me play on any other platform. Does that still happen? Does purchasing Minecraft on the desktop now get you Bedrock on Android, or vice reverse?
