Minecraft Announces Lightyear Collaboration DLC Its Available Now

New content, including Buzz's origin story, is now available as part of an Minecraft DLC that is based on the animated Pixar film Lightyear. The latest Minecraft blog post described the Lightyear DLC as a "blocky intergalactic adventure" which will include five missions. Beware of greeks bearing gifts These missions allow players to combat enemies using a variety of tools, endure hostile environments, and fly various aircrafts to avoid obstacles.

"In the Lightyear DLC you can explore Buzz's story and help him navigate an extraterrestrial world following an unfortunate crash landing," says a portion of the post. "You can experience five missions as this Academy-trained hero, including an unfriendly swamp, a jungle and a mine and a variety of alien settlements."

The Lightyear DLC will also include an exclusive Lightyear-themed Character Creator item. It's currently not available for Nintendo Switch, but the blog post said it would be available on the console "soon." People who own other versions of Minecraft can download it for free via DLC on the storefronts for their respective consoles.
