Reading the Bible daily is an excellent habit that benefits every Christian in many ways. In this entry we will talk about three benefits.

We are fed by the Word

When we read the Bible we are fed by the Word of God and supplied in our Christian life. Jesus mentioned this in Matthew 4:4 when He said:

"Not only of bread shall man live, but of every word that comes out of the mouth of God."

Other verses found in The Bible also clearly show us that the Word of God is food for His children. For example, 1 Peter 2:2 says:

"Wish, as newborn children, the milk of the Word given without deception, that by it you may grow for salvation."

And in the Old Testament, Jeremiah 15:16 says:

"Your words were found, and I ate them; and Your word went to me for joy and joy in my heart."

When we eat physical food we receive the nutrients needed to live and be healthy. Thus we receive the necessary energies to go to work, exercise and spend time with family and friends. On the other hand, when we don't eat for a day we feel weak, tired and even grumpy. If we still don't eat, we get susceptible to bigger problems, like diseases.

Similarly, when we eat spiritual food we receive the necessary supply to live our Christian life. But when we turn away from God's Word for a while, we may feel weak, tired, and spiritually "bad." We are more susceptible to temptations, doubts, and other kinds of spiritual diseases. We simply do not have a way to face the many challenges that come into our lives as believers.

Therefore, it is very important that we receive the supply that comes from reading and eating the Word of God daily. To maintain a healthy and even joyful Christian life,we must receive the spiritual nourishment provided by the Word of God.
