Jason Momoa In Negotiations To Star In Minecraft Movie

A movie version of Mojang Studio's Minecraft is beginning to come together. just another wordpress site According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jason Momoa who is an action-oriented hero, is being considered for a role in a film adaptation of the well-known game. Although no contract has been signed, the possibility of Momoa's involvement is a positive sign of life for a film that had been put on Warner Bros’ back burner. Warner Bros originally planned to release the film in March 2022, but the film was canceled because of delays in production due to the pandemic, according THR. The film's problems predate Covid-19. Its original screenwriters and director quit the film in 2014 due to of creative differences with Mojang.



Jared Hess, Napoleon Dynamite's director, is reportedly on board. Mary Parent and Roy Lee, Dune producers, are also on board. It's unclear what Momoa will do in the film. It's not clear what elements from the 2011 game will be used in the film or whether fans will be able to see their favorite characters like Minecraft Steve. The plot of the film, released by Mojang Studios in 2019, is fairly straightforward: "The malevolent Ender Dragon embarks on a path of destruction, which prompts a young girl and her group of unlikely adventurers to set out to save the Overworld."



But the fans can anticipate more progress on the film in the near future. According to The Ankler, Warner Bros. has a lease for Minecraft rights expires January 2023. The film's production will need to begin prior to then.
