Jump to: navigation, search

The web based FTP client enables you to manage your Minecraft server files with relative ease from the panel. To access your files using the web client, navigate to FTP File Access and log in using your panel password. Once authenticated you will be directed to the home directory of your server.

Navigating Your Server Files

Navigating through your server files is very similar to how you would do it on your own desktop. In the center is the directory structure, we can navigate to, select and edit our files from here. MINECRAFT Click the respective folder to enter in and view its contents. To edit a File we click Edit and to download we click the actual name of the file.

Along the top are options to manage the respective files you have checked. While you have the selected items checked you can issue certain actions to them like:

Move - Move selected files to another directory with your server. Delete - Permanently delete selected files. Copy - Create a copy of selected files. Rename - Rename selected files. Download - Download selected files into an archive format. Zip - Archive selected files and save onto the server. Unzip - Extract the contents of an archive to the directory you're presently in. Edit - Edit the respective file using a built-in text editor.

Creating New Folder and Files

You can create new files and folders directly from the panel using the New Dir, New File or Upload option located on the left side menu.

New Dir - Create a new folder (directory). New File - Create a new plain text file. Upload - Upload a batch of files or archive.

When using the Upload option to upload files to your server, it's important to remember that you can only upload single files and not entire folders. If you wish to upload an entire folder then you will need to upload it as an archive file and then use the unzip option to extract its contents onto the server.

Limitations

While the web based FTP client is convenient and quick for light server edits and uploads, it does have its limitations. When committing changes to your server files or uploading new files, you are using the panels web page as an intermediary for the file exchange. What this means is that you are limited in how much you can upload in a single session. This limitation is set at 50mb, any file commit or upload larger than this size will have to be done using a 3rd Party FTP client such as Filezilla. Third-party clients such as Filezilla do not have a file size limitation since it connects with your server files directly as opposed to the web based FTP client.
